Trump puts Cuban doctors in shooting line as heat turned up upon island economy

After US allies expel international health missions, Havana warns that will patients will pay the highest price pertaining to campaign against its scheme

A Cuban medical program that has helped some of the world’ t poorest communities has become the latest focus on of the Trump administration’ s rising attempts to pressure Havana’ t faltering economy.

Called “ Cuban doctors”, the famous – if controversial – humanitarian education medical mission was founded more than half a hundred years ago in the aftermath of Fidel Castro’ s revolution, in part to improve the country’ s international impact.
